Because It Was Seen — Reader & Writing Companion Set
Some of what I see began with you.
Bring the stories of Because It Was Seen into conversation with your own. This two-book set pairs Golden Hour Gallery’s exhibition reader with A Second Look, its guided writing companion.
The reader follows the ways our attention is shaped by other people: a teacher who makes a detail visible, a maker whose account changes an image, a person whose way of looking remains with us. Across twenty-eight sections, historical encounters and original prose invite us to consider what we see and how we learned to see it.
The writing companion gives those questions somewhere to continue. Sixteen paired entries keep a first impression beside a later return, with optional prompts and open space for the details, conversations, and uncertainties that belong to your own life.
Read a little. Keep a first account. Return when something gives you reason to look again. The books can be used together at your own pace, and each also stands on its own.
A thoughtful pair to keep beside your reading chair or give to someone whose attention has become part of yours.
